Sustainable urban environments

The Sustainable Urban Environments Research Group is an interdisciplinary collaborative based at the School of Social Sciences and Technology at the Technical University of Munich. Through scholarship, teaching, and public engagement, we seek to better understand the social dimensions of environmental change in cities. Our work employs the interdisciplinary rubric of urban ecologies, integrating natural and social science perspectives on key processes that drive urban social-ecological change. Our research aims to provide a fuller and more empirically robust scholarly basis for anticipating and responding to the environmental future of our urban planet. We are committed to research practices that affirm the centrality of environmental justice, ecological vitality, and mutual care for the human and nonhuman world. Want to get involved?
